Dang, what am i to do. I know how to use Photoshop, am pretty well-versed in flash animation, and i can ink, draw, and probably paint illustration-kinda stuff. BUT here's the catch. When companies need graphic artists, flash animators, and/or illustrators, dang, they want the program geeks. I mean, sure i can make you a floating banner with oodles of excessive designer-demanded graphics, but they expect us to program the whole site like we're meant for the php and html world @_@

Sounds like a complaint ey, but it's pretty hard to find work in here without demand of being the jack of all trades all-in-one multitask beast. My choices are an animation studio that specializes in flash, an advertising firm or something of the sort, or just plain old painting gallery exhibitions.

Now those are all good, but consider the status of my country (teh Philippines) in these kinds of things. The animation studios in the vicinity are pet studios by other countries, and God knows WHEN the foreign studios would ask for service from a country way across the planet. Maybe i dont know jack about how these businesses work, but I'm getting realistic here. When would Disney turn to the Philippines for cleanups and pencil tests if they've already got everything they need over there? I have a friend applying for this company who's supposedly Disney's "base" in the Phil, but the truth is much MUCH different. I can't say much since it's gonna be legal action up my arse, so im leaving it at that.

So right now, i'm stuck. Feeling teh hard times comin over again. But ah well, there's always teaching. It all boils down to doing what i love doing. In which the options are far less available in my country than in others. (end anti-patriotic rant here 8D)

ehem, in other news (like i mean it), i havent painted ever since forever. Been working on my animation skills lately and the result is Gun & Sword. Pretty straightforward goal, really, get back to flash animation and merge into digital media once again.

I'm amazed that my sister has grown alot since her recent DD. I'm serious, and everyone knows it; that kid's ability with Photoshop digipainting so far is WAY up there that my only salvaging point is that i can animate xD Not being the jealous brother over here, in fact, i want her to avoid the mistakes i've done before (i only started getting serious with art by the time i graduated high school) so yeah, i'm proud of her. Plus now i can ask her for backgrounds for my animations har har.

She's entering a contest by and her entry looks alot more improved in terms of her style development, colors, and composition. Can't wait for her to finish it.

Anyways there ya have it. I'm not completely dead from DA. I'm just uhh, not active enough. xD see ya all!
